The International Workshop on Sustainable and Quality Tourism and its International Exposition by QNeST European project will take place Thursday, June 27th from 9.00 a.m. till night!
The Workshop and the MicroFair will be held at Building 5, Studium 2000, Via di Valesio, in the heart of Lecce (Italy).
The Event will be entirely dedicated to the development and spread of a “quality network” active in the field of sustainable tourism in the whole Adriatic-Ionian area.
There will be B2B meetings, debates and presentation of high-quality pilot tourist routes at local and international level.
This large project networking community event will include a Transnational Exposition, that will be open to the public for all ages to enjoy, from 5:00 p.m.. There will be over 40 local and international vendors on site showing their high-quality products and services, from wine and typical dishes to tourist accommodations and tools related to the fruition of cultural heritage, to accessibility facilities and so on. A group of musicians will liven up the evening with traditional songs from Salento.
The initiative is organized within the European project “QNeST – Quality Network on Sustainable Tourism”, co-financed under the Interreg V-B Adriatic-Ionian Programme (Priority axis No.2 “Sustainable Region”, Specific objective 2.1 “Promoting the sustainable valorisation and preservation of natural and cultural assets as growth assets in the Adriatic-Ionian area”), headed by the University of Salento (Department of Cultural Heritage and Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies – DiSteba).
The project, which also sees the collaboration of BTM, will last December of this year and involves an international partnership also composed by Marche and Veneto regions from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Greece.
The aim is to create a transnational network of tourism operators combined under a Transnational Brand for a Sustainable Quality Tourism, active in the sectors of cultural heritage (artistic craftsmanship and popular traditions), Environmental Sustainability and Mediterranean diet, paying particular attention to the offer of accessible and social well-being services.
The new Brand, born at the end of a long phase of research and comparison between internationally well-known experts in the field, is identifing economic operators and stakeholders providing high-quality tourism products which are also oriented to achieve environmental, social and economic sustainability standards.
